The Family Medicine Clinic at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is just blocks from the campus, and is the primary healthcare location for students with CampusCare, UIC's student Health Insurance. Even for those with other insurance, all students are able to access some free services at the Clinic.
When the management of the Clinic approached us, relatively few students were utilizing the clinic, and despite an excellent level of care, online reviews of the clinic were abysmal. The clinic administrators were troubled and confused by the situation.
To better understand what was going on, we canvassed students on campus and interviewed clinic staff
